In view of the recent spate of ransomware attacks like WannaCry, Petya etc, we would like to outline a few measures to help ensure your data and information are better protected.
All our IT systems are regularly patched with up-to-date security patches and secured with anti- virus & security software. We strongly recommend you to do likewise for your PC and mobile devices.
Our email providers are among the leading global email providers which provides real-time (updated) security scanning in all our (originating) emails, that significantly lowers the risk of any infected emails that you might receive from us.
However, it has come to our attention that a few clients have received malware-infested email purportedly ‘sent’ from SEED Global. Our investigation revealed that those emails were originated from malware-infested PC not belonging to SEED Global but instead have SEED Global email addresses in their email contact list, that were compromised.
If you are using email client software like Microsoft Outlook or others and have stored email contact lists, we advise you to scan your system regularly to lower the risk of such attack/compromise.
We would like to reiterate that we also have strict policies in what we can email out using our corporate email accounts. Should you receive any suspicious email purportedly ‘sent’ from SEED Global, please report to us and do not click on any links, as these are likely malicious in nature.
To conclude, it is imperative that we ensure our PC and mobile devices are adequately protected and regularly updated. We should also report and not click on any suspicious links or attachment received via emails. If you have any further queries or requires assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
